The Vinitech 2004 Gold Medal for Innovation was awarded to the "Diam" closure developed by Oeneo Division Bouchage
Diam closures are a genuine revolution for oenology professionals and wine lovers alike. The "Diam" closure finally places wine out of the reach of the adverse tastes linked to cork taint Free from this imperfection, cork finds its former glory by providing the best of itself in an unparalleled union with the wine.
The Vinitech trade show is the meeting point of knowledge and expertise at the service of oenology and is the event that should not or cannot be missed within the global wine industry. For its 2004 edition (30 November to 3 December), the International Vinitech Awards aimed to reward the most innovative companies in their category. Three techniques were decisive criteria: the degree of innovation, the improvement of the quality of wines and spirits, and the respect for the environment.
After 7 years of research for the development of the "Diamant" process, this award coincides precisely with Oeneo ideals and the start of the distribution of their new "Diam" closure.
Technological leader in the wine closure sector, Oeneo Division Bouchage has for several years conducted an ambitious R&D policy to offer professionals in the wine industry closure solutions that reduce the risk of organoleptic deviations while providing them with the unrivalled benefits of cork (elasticity, liquid tightness, gas permeability).
As a result of extensive testing in the laboratory and during an industrial pilot phase, complemented by an extensive program of international and independent tests, Oeneo Division Bouchage has definitively validated the effectiveness of the Diamant process by eradicating the molecule responsible for the overly famous taste called "cork-taint" (TCA or trichloroanisole).
